IHSAN Picnic in Regents Park

I couldn’t remember when the picnic was, but I am sure it was the beginning of summer and the end of spring. It was at Regents Park near the London Central Mosque, I remember praying zohor at the mosque on that day. We took the train to Charing Cross and then took the Bakerloo line to the Central Mosque. The reason why we went to the picnic was to meet other Muslim homeschoolers and since it was a very nice and sunny day, it turned out to be a very successful picnic, Alhamdullilah (at least in my opinion).

We were the first to arrive at the park. My mum decided to sit under the shade of a big tree. She laid the mat down, while I started to play with the toys that I brought. In no time at all, a lot of other mothers arrived with their children. Among them were my friends Limiah and Rohey. We had lots of fun in the playground with the other children, while the mothers were chatting and eating.

My friends and I decided to convince my mummy to take us in a rowing boat. It was a disaster! My friends were driving my mummy crazy! Limiah started to splash the dirty water at us and Rohey wanted to put her feet in the dirty water and my mummy got angry. Rohey might capsize the boat by doing this and we could all get wet. On top of that we didn’t bring any spare clothes! Apart from that we did have fun although my mum vowed not to bring us on a boat ever again.

We went home tired but happy. I hope Ihsan will organize many, many more picnics because I enjoyed it a lot. I am sure other children who were there felt the same way too.

My Day In The Park

I went to the IHSAN picnic with Aunty Fadila, Aunty Somayya and their children. When we got there we saw Safia and her Mum. When people had arrived we ate and then we had a run. We went to the swings for five minutes.

Then me, Limiah, Safia and her Mum went on a boat ride. It was fantastic. Then we went back to the swings. After that we went to the Mosque to pray. Then we played. Then it was time to go. It was a lovely day.

IHSAN Picnic

Asalamualakum! My day at the Ihsan picnic – it was great I really enjoyed it. I travelled by bus and train with my mum Somayya, aunty Fadila and Sara, Ishak, Samira and Roney.

When we arrived we had a lovely welcome. We immediately ran to the boats to find out information. We soon got a go on the boats and we couldn’t move – we were stuck. Alhamdulilah we got off soon and went back to base and then went on the swings. After that we ate and prayed in the mosque we then played on the swings and it was time to go.

A memorable day and I would definitely do it again.

Being At School

My name is Safa. I am seven and a half. I live in London. The name of my school is called Al-Barakah. I like my school because there’s a Muslim teacher. My teacher is very kind. We have another teacher she teaches us Arabic. I have two friends at class they are called Sarah and Zayd. Sarah is eight and Zayd is 6 ½. My sister Zara is five. We have been going for about a year. Alhamdulillah there’s four of us and we enjoy the education. It is all Islamic.

Being At School

My name is Sarah. I am eight years old. I live in London but I used to live in Jordan. The name of my school was Daar Al-Arkam. In the school the children used to be very rough. I used to be bullied and I found it very hard at school. But I go to school at home now and I like it here because there are four children and they never bully me. I have two friends and their names are Safa and Zara and I have my youngest brother, his name is Zayd. My favourite subject is Science. I like it because we look at bugs through the microscope.

Asalaamu Alaikum,

I am 9 years old and I am home educated, I like home education because I can get a drink whenever I want, I can go to the toilet
any time, my mum lets me choose which part of my home work I want to do first. I like home education better than school because
back at school everyone bullied me and the head teacher was..............lets just say she wasn't very nice.
You should try it and see it's good. Allah will bless you for it.

TO ALL CHILDREN:

Dear Friends,

I’m very sad that the American and the British Governments decided to bomb Afghanistan. No country should bomb another country. What about the children of Afghanistan? Haven’t they suffered enough?

I’ve written to Tony Blair and my local MP asking them to stop the war. If you feel the same way please tell all your friends to write as well. Don’t forget to write or even draw your feelings about the matter and send it to the Prime Minister Tony Blair and your Member of Parliament. Give your name, age and address.

The letters and drawings should be sent to:

Prime Minister Tony Blair                           ….(name of your MP)

10 Downing Street                                     House of Commons

London SW1                                              Westminster

                                                                  London SW1 0AA

This is what I wrote:

To Mr Blair,

I HATE WAR! I don’t want any war with the Afghanistans at all. What about the children in Afghanistan? Haven’t they suffered enough? The Americans and the British have been giving food to the Afghanistans and then they started bombing them. But isn’t that stupid? Because they kill the Afghanistans after their tummy is full. Is that fair?

  PLEASE STOP THIS DREADFUL WAR!

Interviews: What Do You Think About Home Education And Going To School?

I think home education is better because home doesn’t mess you up but school will.

In school you will be taught by an unbeliever so they are kaffir rules, which are not fair because unbelievers made them up and not Allah (SWT)

Allah (SWT) made up fair rules and the unbelievers made up unjust ones.

I can do home ed whenever I want and I’m not tied down to a timetable.

I don’t like the way everyone always says innit to everything it is a bad way of speaking and I had this thought while hanging upside from a pole and if I was in school I don’ t think I would think so much, because they make you sit the right way up all the time!

It’s sooooo  boring in school and  better funner at home and you can do everything.

At home I can do my lessons with my flick knife on my desk I don’t think I’d be allowed to do that in school!

And, if I want to bring out my Playmobil or Lego instead of writing I can.

-Muhammad Mustafa - AGE 6

At home you don’t learn much, at school it’s a bit less though!

Mostly the really silly people are the ones who go to school.

I have been home educated since I was born 15 years ago.  What I really liked about learning at home was when I wanted to do a subject I could do it all day every day sometimes for months until I had enough of it.  If I had to change my subject every half an hour I don’t think I would have done so well because I can’t think in a time frame my mind goes off on it’s own!

My name is Hanan. I’m 8 years old.

Our life is Islam:

I love to be a Muslim because I love Allah. I hope we all go to Jenna Inshallah. When we wake up we say our Du’a – ‘All praise is to Allah who gives us life after taking it from us and unto him is the resurrection’.

When I used to got to state school there was no bucket to make instinja and I was sad because it did not feel clean. When I tried to wear a long dress at school everyone called it a baby dress, that made me more sad and upset. When we had treat-time in Friday assemblies, the teacher used to put on Spice Girls and Brittney Spears music and tell us to dance. It is Haram to do that!

Now Allah (swt) has let me be home educated and it is such fun. My Ummi is my teacher now. I call her Mrs Ummi when she teaches me. I am learning so much about many things. I had a cooking class and Mrs Ummi helped me to make chocolate biscuits, they were yummy. I have many new Muslim friends who are kind and not rude.
